Hereby we inform our present and prospective customers and cooperating partners that our Company has just completed very significant transaction of purchase of the Odra river port in Opole.  It `s been extremely important deal  to the interests of our entire capital group.

Within the overall investment, FAMET, Inc. purchased:

-           Harbor basin with inlet channel with dimensions of
97 x 14.2 x 4.7 meters

-           Reloading yard with an area of 2 hectares

-           Railway siding

-           Gantry crane with a capacity of 500 tons

The huge gantry crane by Hans Kuenz GmbH is very important element of the port infrastructure. The crane, designed for work involving transshipments of over sized and over tonnage constructions, apparatus and their parts is probably the largest one in the Polish river ports. The equipment will allow to dispatch by low-cost inland transport (barges and pontoons) such items, which parameters exclude road and railway transport over the longer distances.

Disposing the whole equipment makes it possible to implement shipments by rivers, and optionally by sea lanes to many parts of the World.  FAMET Group provides a wide-ranging cooperation at the level of service use of the port infrastructure by other companies.  Specific arrangements with “Best Logistics” Company have been already taken in this range. “Best Logistics” specializes in inland and sea shipping of heavy and over sized elements all over the World. It has been an agent of the port.
